A flying start
Launching a new £100m shopping centre in Wrexham at the start of the credit crunch required a tempting launch programme to entice shoppers.
A Caribbean style launch carnival, VIP event, balloon launch, competitions, shopper goody bags, promotions and GMTV’s Mark Heyes fashion show gave the complex the best start. 50,000 people visited the centre on the opening day. Blanket regional print and broadcast coverage created a positive story and promoted the opening of the store – Wrexham’s first major shopping centre – as welcome news for local shoppers and the economy.
